U-God Says He Fears For His Life After Suing Wu Music Group

Wu-Tang Clan member, U-God, contacted police in early June, saying that associated of the group are trying to get him and asked the New Jersey City police for protection.

According to the Jersey Journal, the rapper (real name: Lamont Hawkins) told police that various men have been following him from his Manhattan studio to his home in Jersey City because of his lawsuit against the group.

Back in January, U-God filed a lawsuit for $170,000 against Wu Music Group, claiming he wasn't paid advance money from the group's latest album 8 Diagrams, back royalties, and tour money.

The rapper said over the past few months cars with Pennsylvania, New Jersey or New York plates have followed him numerous times, but didn't call authorities because he distrusts police.

The paper reports that U-God told police that on one specific occasion he parked in the garage of his River Court building and when he walked out, he saw two men get out of a car across the street. One of them gestured toward his waistband as though threatening that he had a weapon.

U-God reportedly told police that felt threatened and couldn't take it any more, so he wants their help.

He's filed a suspicious persons report. No one has been charged, police said.
