Rumors spread over the internet this weekend that Busta Rhymes has been dropped from his label, Interscope Records.
While nothing has been confirmed, rumors indicate that the rapper was involved in a heated argument with label chairman, Jimmy Iovine, which resulted in Busta leaving the label.
Many speculate that it may have something to do with delays with his eighth studio album, Blessed, which was originally set for July, but has since been pushed back with no new date of release in sight.
Busta was signed with Elektra for much of career, before the label folded. He later moved to J Records where he released two solo albums, Genesis and It Ain't Safe No More.
After a run at J Records, Busta hooked up with Dr. Dre and found himself at Interscope Records where he released 2006's The Big Bang.
Interscope reps said they were not able to comment on the rumors, but said they plan to release a formal statement soon.
