Alternative hip-hop outfit, Gym Class Heroes, have recently announced the upcoming release of their third album, The Quilt, which follows up their 2006's RIAA gold-certified breakthrough, As Cruel As School Children.
The new album will be preceded by the album's first Dream-produced single, "Cookie Jar." The track will become available digitally beginning July 8th. Gym Class Heroes recently wrapped production on a companion video for "Cookie Jar," which will premiere later this summer.
This time around Gym Class Heroes teamed up with a number of extraordinary collaborators -- including Cool & Dre, and the Geneva, NY-based band's longtime friend and collaborator, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, as well as The-Dream. Featured guests include Busta Rhymes, UK soul sensation Estelle, and the legendary Daryl Hall.
The Gym Class Heroes are: Travis McCoy (lead vocalist), Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo (guitarist), Eric Roberts (bassist), and Matt McGinley (drummer).
The group is currently performing new material as headliners for the Vans Warped Tour. It kicked off in Salt Lake City on June 28 and continue through August before wrapping up in Carson, CA.
The Quilt is slated for release September 9.
