It's rare when anyone hears from Eminem. He's a very private person and the spotlight isn't what he thrives on. It's the music. That's obvious.

The Detroit rapper recently called into Shade45 when he heard LL Cool J was there, and pranked him a little bit.

Slim got on the line and pretended to be a fan from Miami who challenged LL to a game of "Name That Tune." LL agreed to the game, not knowing it was Eminem on the line. Eminem spat several lines from several of the veteran rapper's catalog, all of which LL identified and had fun while doing.

LL responded, "You sound good saying them joints. Damn, B. That sounds like you need to write some bars, homie."

Soon after, Em -- who was still posing as a fan from Miami -- asked if he could showcase something he had written, and that's when he broke into his highly successful single "Lose Yourself."

Both rappers began to laugh, as the host announced that it was actually Eminem on the phone.

"I had to do it. Like honestly, I've been a fan forever," Eminem told LL over the air, revealing his admiration from the rapper. "I know we ain't had a chance to meet-meet. I know we met one time in a Foot Locker, and that was crazy to me 'cause I had just jumped on board with Dre. You know, I was a little bit star struck. I had to be, it was you."

The two both exchanged pleasantries, and Em then took the opportunity to ask LL Cool J to come hang out with him and watch the NBA Finals.

"You got this relationship with Dre, you cool with 50, so when are we gonna hang out? I got cable at my house ... the game is on, so what's going on?" Em asked.

"Yo, we gonna link up. Let's get together and let's do it. Let's break bread, I'm coming to the house," LL said in response.

Later on in the conversation, Eminem told a funny story about him being kicked out of his home by his mother as a kid thanks for LL Cool J's music.

"When Walk With A Panther first came out ... there was this hotline you could call to get a sneak preview of the album," explained Em. "Sh** was like a $1 a minute or some sh**, right? And the album was on loop forever and you could listen as long as you wanted. I ran up like $27 and my mother kicked me out the house."

LL laughed and thanks Eminem for his kind words and emphasized that they would eventually link up, work together and hang out.

Before hanging up, Em was asked about where he was at with the music, in which he explained, "Everything is good. I'm just in the studio right now working on songs and stuff like that."

He did not give any further information regarding new music however.
