Usher takes over the Billboard 200 this week four years after he took over with his album, Confessions. Now he's back with Here I Stand.
The new album, led by the single "Love In This Club" featuring Young Jeezy, scored the no. 1 with 433,000 copies sold. It's the second highest debut this year, right behind Mariah Carey's E-MC2. In 2004, Usher debut at no. 1 with a whopping 1,096,000 units and spent nine weeks on top. It went on to be the year's best-seller.
At no. 4 is Bun B, dropping two spots from his no. 2 debut last week with II Trill, his sophomore solo album. This week, he took a 59% sales decrease, but still moved another 40,000 units, thanks in part of the Sean Kingston assisted single "That's Gangsta."
Right behind Bun B is British singer Leona Lewis and her debut, Spirit, at no. 5. The set sold 39,000 copies this week, putting her eight week total at 707,000 copies.
Mariah Carey continues to hold on to the top 10, but slide from no. 7 to no. 8 this week with E=MC2, recording 35,600 copies sold this week. The set is nearing platinum status at 968,000 units.
And to round out the top 10 is Al Green with Lay It Down, selling 34,000 copies. Its Green's highest debut ever and his highest charting album since I'm Still In Love With You reached No. 4 in 1972.
According to Billboard.com, album sales this week are up 0.44% from last week's sum with 7.24 million units and down 13% from the same week last year.
