After five years of sitting and waiting on the bench, North Philly rapper Peedi Crakk has parted ways with Roc-A-Fella Records in favor of booming independent label with Amalgam Digital.

The tech-savvy company responsible for launching hip-hop's first genre specific digital retail store attracted Peedi with their innovative business model and creatively fostering environment.

Peedi Crakk joins a roster that includes the likes of Joe Budden, Tash (of Tha Alkaholiks), and the Juggaknots. Through the deal he will release his debut album, Camel Face Hunting Season, in September.

"Yup. I'm back! And I feel unstoppable," said Peedi. "My flow is advanced and as an artist, I'm getting better, especially without the claws of Roc-A-Fella digging at my back. I've been a free agent for the past three months and now signing with the Amalgam Digital label for my first project, I feel even more unstoppable. They are providing exactly what Peedi always needed ... proper promotion and distribution. BANG! It's Camel Face Hunting Season."

The first single is set to be "More Towels,” features production by Vinny Idol. Later, when released, AmalgamDigital.com will offer exclusive bonus tracks when the album is downloaded from the website.

Peedi Crakk is a founding member of State Property, alongside Beanie Sigel, Freeway, and Young Gunz, and has earned respect for his lyrical talent and rhythmic flow.

Dubbed "The Prince of State Property," he created buzz with his single "One for Peedi" when it came out on the "Paid In Full" soundtrack. Since then, he's gone on to work with artists like Twista, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Ne-Yo on the singer's hit "Stay."

Yo, Carlton, oh my b Clayton (the name's not any better but w/e), negativity is not flyy. First of all, Kanye was supported by Dame way more than by Jay. After he got more attention, Jay started taking him more serious. Kanye has said it, I'm just spitting facts. Can't say shit without listening to what the dude has to say, so before you talk shit, why not actually listen to dude? I'm one of Jay's biggest fans, but I can also see weaknesses of the legend. We were not present when the situation went down, so we can't comment on it, but a lot of talented artists get overlooked at big labels,like Def Jam. That's when its best to go smaller, like Amalgam. It's a good look of them to sign him. Watch this "no-name" label buy you in a couple of years! haha

HAHAHAHAHAAHAH... i'm sure with a name like Clayton your real fuckin hip-hop. No-name label? Ever heard of Joe Budden... he's gonna blow up the scene right along with Peedi and pretty soon your gonna choke on your own words. Check out some of Peedi's freestlyes on you tube... he cant rap? You clearly don't even know who he is. The kid can flow a freestlye like nothing for 10 minutes straight.

This guy sucks. Ya'll need to stop acting like you're excited. Maybe if he could rap he wouldn't have sat on the bench for years. Kanye West is on Roc-a-fella and he appears to be doing well. And, "Camel Face Hunting Season"? Come on man, it's weak if he can see the diss coming. You gotta surprise him with it like Cam'ron did. Peedi is a wannabe prettyboy/thug. Oh and his new label is no-name. So sad how these rappers chase each other's tails. Oh, one more thing, he sucks balls.

your right stand up! they were both in def jam. now they both have the opportunity to make their own moves and leave thier own mark. I have full faith in Peedi on completing a solid album.

damn budden is with amalgam too? i heard them together on that flatline remix. they both got distinctive voices/flows too.. would love to hear some tracks w/ them together. weren't they also both at def jam before?

Yo that's a good luck. If he's joining the ranks along with Budden, they might actually get the chance to shine. I love Jay, but it's hard getting shine at such a big label like Def Jam. Sometimes you gotta go smaller. Good luck Amalgam.
