As earlier reported, Jim Jones' entourage collided with police backstage at Sunday's (June 1) Hot 97 Summer Jam. However, as Jones explains, they didn't even know the men they were arguing with were police.

The Dipset Capo explained recently, via an interview with HHNLive, that police pulled a gun on him and his crew backstage for "no reason," and what's worse, they didn't even make it clear they were police.

"As you know, I just got into it with the police and had an incident where they pulled a gun out on me for NO reason," Jones said. "Undercover. And I didn't know who the f*** they were and they didn't come out with any badges until after they had sprayed mase, then they want to say they are police. Sh** is crazy."

Jones' side of the story may explain why his bodyguard, who was arrested following the altercation, got physical with the officers in the first place.

As previously reported, Jones made a surprise appearance at the event and performed, but after he left the stage, the rapper's entourage got into a skirmish with police, according to the New Jersey Record. 26-year-old Charles Chandler, Jones' bodyguard, was arrested following the altercation after he allegedly grabbed a trooper's head and face before another officer intervened.

Police later said Jones' entourage was confronted for attempting to "incite a riot" by making Sean Bell references on stage.

"It's tough out here. They still out here profiling, and [there is] rap police out here," Jones explained to the site. "We don't get any respect out here. The more we get money, the more they want to take us down and it's terrible."

When asked why he thinks police act this way, Jones said it's probably due to fear. However, he did clear up his comments, saying there's just a handful of police who give them rest a bad name.

"The police get scared, they get nervous. They don't follow protocol," Jones began explaining. "I don't even want to even get into all of that because it's bug man. I'm not going to say all police are bad, but there are police that really give them all a bad rap when it comes to us and sh**. I feel like it's no justice, it's no f***ing peace. So f*** them."
