Xzibit revealed Monday (May 26) that his recently born son, Xavier Kingston Joiner, passed on.
Via a blog post on his official Myspace page, the rapper said that his newborn son passed away on Monday at 3:30 a.m., after being born prematurely just over a week ago.
"This week was extremely difficult for him because his lungs were not strong enough to handle regular oxygen on his own. Xavier passed away this morning," X wrote.
A little more than a week before, the rapper was optimistic when he announced his son's birth, revealing problems, but hoped for the best. "I am writing you from the hospital right now because Xavier was born a lil pre-maturely," the rapper wrote at 4:01 a.m. on May 15th. "But I am keeping faith that everything will work out fine. I tell you people, bringing a life into this world right now is a blessing for me. I have had time to focus and put A LOT of sh** into perspective over the last few years. And at the end of the day, if you don’t have FAMILY around you ... you don't have sh**."
Xzibit, understandably upset by his loss, continued Monday's post by writing that everyone should cherish each moment with their children because you never know when something may happen.
"I must tell you this, it is unnatural for a parent to bury a child," the rapper continued. "I am telling you this because of the same reason I tell you when I'm having great times, life is too short to be fake. Hold on to your kids, if you have them. Protect them and show them you love them everyday you wake up and see them. Don't take a second you get to hug them, teach them and care for them for granted. You can have all the material wealth in the universe, but it is NOTHING compared to having your family."
In other Xzibit news, the rapper will appear in the upcoming "X Files 2: I Want To Believe" film, where he plays an FBI Special agent. The film is slated to hit theatres July 25. A trailer can be streamed at XFiles.com.
