Mariah Carey is very busy these days. She has a new film out, and recently married Nick Cannon just over a week ago, but she's planning for the future pretty quickly.

39-year-old Carey is already planning to start a family with her 27-year-old hubby, she tells the New York Daily News.

"It's part of the whole purpose of getting married. I'd just want our children to have the best childhood and upbringing they possibly could," Carey told the paper.

The pop diva also unveiled a new tattoo on her neck bearing her married name to chat show queen Oprah Winfrey on April 14, and admits only those who knew of her new inking were aware of their plans to wed.

"I don't think anyone realized what we already knew, that we were going to get married," she revealed.

The shotgun wedding was also surprising to Nick, who said he was at a loss for words when it was time to say "I do."

"I haven't been shy in years, but I was speechless. I was elated, but I was thinking, 'Don't pass out,'" he admitted.

All that happened too fast..........he must have knocked her up and they got married really fast so by the time the babe gets here they can say it happened on the honeymoon - I know 2 people that did that - its a shame that people are so shallow that they would rush into a loveless marriage instead of remaining a couple because a baby is on the way

It seems a little odd to me, especially as Mariah was recently quoted saying that she didn't want children... maybe she has met the right guy?

Nick and Mariah have amazing horoscopic hook-ups. She has a stellium [3 or more planets] in Aries and he has a stellium in Libra. All they had to do was build a bridge to each other [the video I presume] and it was on and popping. They have strong Venus connections. Personally I think Nick is lucky because Mariah is a bad bitch. The woman is 40 and she's pullin' them under 30 brothas (maybe under 25). But there are a lot of men who like older women too. I'm a get me a young boy when I get 40..Sike! I can't deal with kids, I can barely deal with these little "boys" today. Congrats to them both by the way :)
