After releasing his debut and sophomore albums with Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace imprint, Bobby Valentino has left the label to pursue indie opportunities.
Via Billboard.com, the singer revealed that he has plans for two independent projects, which will include a six-track EP followed by a full-length studio album.
However, despite leaving, he said the split with DTP was amicable.
He calls the time at DTP a "great stepping stone and learning experience. I look at this as my going off to college. It was time for me to step out on my own and show the world who Bobby Valentino the artist really is."
He told Billboard while in Los Angeles negotiating a distribution deal that he will release an internet-only EP, titled Come With, to get people ready for his forthcoming studio album, which is still untitled.
Its first single is the Lil Wayne assisted "When I See You Smile.
