Fergie and super producer Timbaland were among other top winners at ASCAP 25th annual Pop Music Awards last Wednesday (April 9) at Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre.

The Black Eyed Peas first lady was on hand to accept three awards, including of the Year for her hit single "Big Girls Don't Cry," which tied with Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape."

"To get any honor in that room is something very special," the singer told the Los Angeles Times that night. "Songwriting is an expression of your soul, so to be honored as a writer feels like an approval of your soul.

"I signed a publishing deal before I had a record deal. I consider myself a songwriter who performs, so this is where I want to be. To me, to be in a room of songwriters, it's like everyone is sharing their diaries with each other," she continued.

Producer Timbaland also took home top honors. He was named ASCAP's Songwriter of the Year. He contributed to nine award-winning songs as well, including "Give It to Me," "The Way I Are," "Until The End of Time" and "What Goes Around... Comes Around." This is now twice he's been named Songwriter of the Year.

Since 2003, the Songwriter of The Year award has gone to Nelly, 50 Cent (who won in 2004 and 2006), Scott Storch and Jermaine Dupri.

Tim's colleague, Justin Timberlake, was also on hand, picking up awards for "My Love" and "Until the End of Time."
