Veteran rapper MC Breed was arrested in Michigan on Thursday (April 3) when authorities took him into custody for unpaid child support payments totaling $220,000.
According to local paper the Flint Journal, police got word that the rapper would be appearing at a local record store where he was scheduled to sign autographs. After making the appearance, police apprehended Breed as he and his entourage left the store.
The rapper (real name: Eric Breed) reportedly has not made a payment in three years. He was recently incarcerated for eight months for a parole violation, which is said to be the result of unpaid child support.
Breed was scheduled to perform on Thursday, on a bill with Lil Wayne, but when he couldn't come up with $6,000 to post bail, he was a no-show for the concert.
MC Breed is best known for his 1991 gold-selling song, "Ain't No Future in Yo' Frontin'." In his career, he has worked with the likes of The D.O.C., Too Short and Tupac.
