Remy Ma may not be very happy about spending her time in prison while he awaits her sentence hearing on April 23, but she does have something to be happy about -- marrying her man Papoose.

As reported earlier this month, the couple had been dating for quite some time, and revealed to BET reporter Egypt that they were planning a wedding in the summer. However, just days after these reports, Papoose said that the marriage reports were not true and that they were "just friends."

Now, the Brooklyn rapper is finally coming clean, admitting that he and Remy are in a relationship and admits that the wedding plans are true.

In an email to MTV, Papoose said that although they were planning for a wedding this month on a yacht, Remy's current legal situation has caused them to change their plans.

"We always wanted to keep our personal lives personal, so that's why we never went public with our relationship," the rapper wrote. "Right now, I just feel like she gotta live through me. Yes, we were scheduled to be married on a yacht April 27th. But due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now making arrangements to be married in prison."

For those who haven't read the Remy headlines this week, the rapper was convicted of two charges of assault, and now faces up to 25 years in prison. The charges stem from an incident last July when the rapper and Makeda Barnes-Joseph argued over money missing from the rapper's purse. An argument ensued, followed by the two struggling inside Barnes-Joseph's car, resulting in a Barnes-Joseph being shot in the abdomen. Remy fled the scene, and later arrested and charged.

In Papoose's email, he confirmed, as has Remy's lawyer, that she would appeal her case, and also asked that fans letters for a petition to the judge in hopes of a lesser sentence.

"All her supporters who feel Remy had an influence on their life should write a short letter to the judge asking for the shortest sentence possible," he wrote. "Send it to LettersForRemy@gmail.com."
