The husband of singer British singer Corinne Bailey Rae was found dead in London apartment on Saturday afternoon (March 22). His death is from a suspected drug overdose, reports indicate.
According to UK media, 31-year-old Jason Rae's body was found in Leeds, England at around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, and so far, a 32-year-old suspect has been arrested for supplying the drugs.
The suspect has since been released on bail, pending further investigation.
Police said a post-mortem examination was inconclusive, so they are currently awaiting results of toxicology reports.
Corinne was reportedly not present at the property at the time.
The Rae's married in 2001 when Corinne was 22.
A spokesperson for Bail Rae's record label offered their condolences.
"EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time," the spokesperson said in a statement to BBC. "We ask that the media respects Corinne's privacy and that of her entire family."
The singer was recognized at the Grammy awards for her contribution to Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Letters, which won album of the year.
