After a full week of confusion regarding The Game and whether or not he's been released or transferred to another jail, the rapper has come forward to reveal that he is, in fact, a free man.

As originally reported, Game was released on Sunday (March 9), via L.A. County sheriff's records, due to overcrowding in the Los Angeles jail system. His release came just eight days after turning himself in to begin serving a 60-day sentence.

Since that news came out, via TMZ who also received word from Game's attorney, several hip-hop websites reported that the rapper (real name: Jayceon Taylor) had not been released, but transferred to another facility, according to a statement from management.

Despite the contradicting statements, a rep from the Twin Towers Correctional Facility told MTV on Tuesday (March 11) that Game had been released from custody.

Now, after all the confusion, the rapper has come forward to apologize about all the hoopla.

"I apologize for the conflicting news on my release, but due to the sensitive negotiations on this matter I felt it appropriate not to give an exact date on my release," the statement reads. "I am truly grateful to my attorney, family and management for doing a great job in this respect. Upon my release, I went directly to the studio with producers Cool & Dre and recorded several records, including my street record 'Big Dreams.' Thank you to all my fans as well for the support."

So there you have it people, The Game is free, as reported.

The rapper's street record "Big Dreams" is expected to be serviced to DJs on Tuesday, March 18th, before the first single from his upcoming album, L.A.X., comes.

L.A.X. will be Game's third and possible his final album. It is tentatively scheduled for June.
