After serving just eight days of a 60-day jail sentence, The Game has been released early, reports TMZ.com.

The rapper (real name: Jayceon Taylor) walked into the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles on March 2 to begin serving a 60-day sentence for a felony charge of possession of a firearm in a school zone.

His lawyer, Chapman Holley, confirmed to TMZ that the rapper served only a fifth of his time before walking out of the Los Angeles County Jail. L.A. County sheriff's records show he was released Sunday (March 9).

The felony gun charge stemmed from an incident that occurred at a pick-up basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in Los Angeles, in which Game allegedly pulled a gun and threatened to kill two players after an argument.

He was also charged with making criminal threats and exhibiting a firearm in the presence of a peace officer, but those two charges were dropped as part of a plea deal where he would plead no contest to the weapons possession charge for 60-days.
