Singer Tiffany Villarreal Isn't Worried About Playing The Waiting Game At Dre's Aftermath

The legendary production and backing of Dr. Dre has served as a big advantage for artists over the years, but despite all the perks that come with working with a super producer of Dre's stature, there's always the flipside that isn't always that enjoyable.

One gripe several artists have had with Dr. Dre and Aftermath since its inception is the long wait and overall level of perfection Dre holds when it comes to the recording and releasing of an album, which becomes frustrating when entire bodies of work are scraped if he feels the music is either dated or isn't quite there yet. Busta Rhymes spoke out about that in promotion of his last album, The Big Bang.

Other newer artists have to play the waiting game, sitting on the bench, waiting for their turn at bat. Some of those artists include former and current members of the Aftermath roster such as Rakim, Joell Ortiz, Bishop Lamont and Shady/Aftermath artist Stat Quo. One other -- not mentioned in that list as often -- is singer Tiffany Villarreal.

Tiffany is a young Mexican and Puerto Rican songstress hailing from San Antonio, Texas. Signed to the label already for a few years, she too seems to be playing the waiting game.

She says the time, however, isn't wasted and doesn't bother her.

"I'm not worried [about the wait]," the singer told BallerStatus.com recently. "I got God. It's nothing I worry about. I just try to stay creative as possible, so it's a beautiful thing."

Her tough exterior comes after two failed recording contracts before she even met Dre, so Tiffany isn't letting anybody ruffle her feathers and keeps marching on. Her history in music includes deals with RCA, Universal/Motown and now Aftermath. So for her, the third time's a charm and she's not letting anybody tell her otherwise.

"As long as you have the drive and you have the ambition, you can do anything if you set your mind to it," Tiffany explained. "I'm living proof of it. You just don't give up, no matter what. You never let nobody steal away your confidence. That's really important in this business."

So how did the deal with Dre come about? Well, the singer said it happened in the blink of an eye. Somebody referred her to the good Doctor, she sang for him and the deal was done. It was just that easy.

"It was a crazy experience. What happened was, I just met with somebody that knew [Dre], I went to the studio, sang for him and he said it was a wrap. We started recording our first song that night.

"It's just been a phenomenal experience, the whole journey. You know, the good times, the bad..." she continued.

While there's not a timeframe of certainty when it comes to the release of her official album, she said she's close to finishing it, and promised something would drop this year.

She did not, however, reveal any other details regarding the producers or artists she has worked with -- aside from Dre -- thus far, explaining that she'd rather keep that info a surprise.

For a sample of Tiffany, one song -- "Fallin'" -- can be streamed on her official MySpace page at MySpace.com/TiffanyVillarreal.
