Rapper The Game has turned himself to begin serving a 60-day jail sentence on Sunday (March 2), according to Allhiphop.com.

The rapper (real name: Jayceon Taylor) received the sentence as a part of a plea deal in which he pleaded no contest to felony possession of a firearm in a school zone recently, while two other charges -- making criminal threats and exhibiting a firearm in the presence of a peace officer -- were dismissed.

The charges stem from a 2007 pick-up basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex near his old Compton neighborhood where Game alleged pulled a gun on another player following a fight between the two.

During the incident, the rapper had gotten angry, punched the other player, and then headed to his vehicle to grab a pistol before threatening to kill him.

In addition to the 60-day sentence, The Game also received 150 hours of community service -- which he will begin serving once released -- and three years probation.

In other Game news, the rapper is expected to drop a new mixtape, titled Am I My Brother's Keeper?, shortly before his third solo album, LAX, hit stores.
