Bun B, the surviving member of UGK, recently revealed that he is preparing the release of his sophomore solo album, II Trill.
Following on the heels of UGK's highly successful 2007 two-disc self-titled set, Bun B is packing his second solo album with tons of star power.
According to his label, the Texas legend has garnered guest spots by the late Pimp C, Lupe Fiasco, Lil Wayne, 8 Ball & MJG, David Banner, Rick Ross, Mya, Mike Jones, Webbie, Expensive Taste (Paul Wall, Skinhead Rob, & Travis Barker) and Slim Thug, among others.
Production you ask? He's got that covered too. He has enlisted the likes of top producers such as Scott Storch, Jazze Pha, DJ Khalil, Clinton Sparks, Enigma and Chops to name a few.
II Trill is the follow-up to 2005's Trill, Bun's solo debut. The album reach no. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and has sold 563,000 copies domestically to date.
The success of that album helped catapult the group album, Underground Kingz, to the top spot on the Billboard 200 during last summer, and even garnered the group their first Grammy nomination, although they ultimately lost in their category.
Additionally for Bun's new album, he has partnered with Microsoft Zune for his spring promo tour, which hits Fayetteville, N.C. on Friday (February 29).
He will travel on the road until April, hitting Detroit, Chicago, Austin, Kansas City and Los Angeles along the way.
Bun will keep his fans up-to-date with his life on the road via his own Zune page at Zune.net/BunB.
