While facing three felonies, rapper The Game recently copped a plea in regards to his trial on felony gun charges -- and will serve a 120-day jail sentence instead.
In the debut issue of Benzino's new magazine, Monsta, the rapper said he has given up on fighting the case and would rather save his money instead, despite maintaining his innocence.
"The crazy part about this is that I've had guns before in my life," The Game told the magazine. "But this time I didn't have a gun. And because one person said I had a gun and coaxed his homies into saying that I had a gun, I'm in a predicament where I'm asking, Do I want to spend another million dollars to fight this trial so who knows what jury's gonna come in and say I'm guilty? Or do I want to save my money, go sit down for four months and accept this felony they're trying to give me for no reason?"
There is no word as to when The Game is scheduled to begin serving his sentence.
Also in the interview, the rapper talks more about his forthcoming third album, LAX, which is rumored to be his last.
The premiere issue of Monsta magazine, a new venture from former Source magazine owners Dave Mays and Raymond "Benzino" Scott, will hit newsstands on February 12.
