Indie rapper Torae is finally preparing for the release of his debut LP, titled Daily Conversation, after several years in the industry grinding to get his name out there.
This self proclaimed "new breed of the raw" first gained exposure after submitting a demo tape to Bad Boy Records in the late 90s, which impressed with the demo one of the label's executives, landing him a feature on on a compilation album released through an independent company.
Following his first look in the game, Torae joined The Ruff Ryders and Cash Money Millionaires on their nationwide tour, helping his buzz rise even further.
After gaining connects and rocking shows, Torae went on to record and release a 12" single, titled "Gimme The Mic" (b/w "Spice Thang"), on his own Internal Affairs Entertainment imprint, which he followed up in May 2006 with the release of "Promises" (b/w "T.I.M.E.").
"Promises" have become a staple on underground radio shows, Music Choice and satellite radio stations since then. Likewise, the track was featured on The Justo Tribute mixtape hosted by Pete Rock, and only three months after its release, nominated for two Underground Music Awards (Best Rap Group & Song of the Year).
Now, finally, his debut is coming.
The debut 14 track effort will feature production from DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Black Milk, Khrysis, and Marco Polo, while guest appearances include Tash (Tha Alkaholiks), Stimuli, Teflon and fellow rising stars Chaundon and Skyzoo.
His lead single is the DJ Premier produced "Get It Done" featuring Skyzoo.
Daily Conversation is slated to drop January 29 via Fat Beats Records.
