Tony Yayo Wants Child Slapping Charges Dropped After Another Man Admits To Guilt

A lawyer for G-Unit's Tony Yayo, who is accused of slapping a minor, plans to ask that charges against the rapper are dropped after another man confessed on Thursday (January 10).
According to the Associated Press, an acquaintance of the rapper, Lowell Fletcher, told police during an unrelated jailhouse interview that he had slapped the youth in March and Yayo pulled him away, said the Yayo's attorney, Scott Leemon, but the rapper was the one who got charged.
29-year-old Yayo (real name: Marvin Bernard) is accused of slapping the 14-year-old son of Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond, owner of Czar Entertainment, which manages rappers such as The Game.
He was arrested in March 2007 and charged with charges of misdemeanor assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child (see "G-Unit's Tony Yayo Arrested For Allegedly Slapping Teen") -- all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.
Yayo plans to file a motion for the charges dismissal, said Leemon.
In a state, in regard to Fletcher admitting guilty, the incident was explained.
"Fletcher saw a young boy wearing a Czar Entertainment T-shirt. Fletcher further stated that he slapped the boy across the face and began to grab the boy's shirt. At this point Marvin Bernard (Yayo) exited the vehicle, tried to restrain him (Fletcher) and get him back in the vehicle."
"Although the statement is harmful to my client," Fletcher's lawyer, Robert Macedonio said told the AP, "it seems that Tony Yayo really didn't do anything but pull him (Fletcher) off this kid."
Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Neil E. Ross had previously set a tentative trial date for March 31, but with the newly revealed information, he told both sides to file motions regarding the statement before then.
