Ohio Group Accuses Soulja Boy Of Stealing Their Song

Ohio based group, the Ohio Boyz, are accusing popular teen rapper Soulja Boy of ripping off one of their songs.

According to the group, it started on MySpace approximately a year ago when a girl close to Soulja Boy told the rapper about one of the group's songs on their Myspace page, which they claim he came, listened to and gave them props for.

As of press time, a comment was posted on group member T. Peezy's Myspace page from Soulja Boy in January 2007 in which he said that he liked their music.

Since then, the Ohio Boyz claim Soulja Boy has been biting their style -- first by wearing his Evisu pants backwards (which they say he saw them do), then by calling himself "S. Beezy," confusing similar to one of the group member's names -- "T. Peezy."

"Recently [Soulja Boy has] been going by the alias 'S. Beezy' ... sounds kinda similar [to] 'T. Peezy'," the group told BallerStatus. "These are way too many coincidences. He's been jockin'."

Despite letting the small similarities go, the group said they had the last straw when Soulja Boy stole one of their songs. The Ohio Boyz claim that about a month ago, Soulja Boy leaked a new song by the name of "Swag," a song the group says they have had on their MySpace page for months.

"He had basically tweaked the beat and had the exact hook on [his version]," the Ohio Boyz said. "We've had the song on our page for months."

After hearing the plagiarism, the group attempted to contact Soulja Boy regarding the track, but to date, he has denied their allegations, and even responded via a comment on their Myspace page.

"I never heard of ya'll n----s in my life, or your 'Swag' song," Soulja Boy wrote on December 13, 2007. "I swear to God I never even heard that sh-- on ya'll page. Kill that noise."

This isn't the first time the 17-year-old rapper has been accused of stealing. In October 2007, Mo Thugs group member Souljah Boy with an "h" accused the rapper of taking his name, which he has had for nearly 12 years (see "Soulja Boy Accused Of Stealing Name From Another Artist").

Soulja Boy's rep said, at the time of the accusation, that although they have not been contacted about the name confusion, the teen rapper's name is technically Soulja Boy Tell 'Em.
