New Orleans rapper, Curren$y, announced Sunday (December 16) that he has official left Lil Wayne's Young Money label and the Cash Money family.

Via a blog posted on his MySpace page, titled "Sorry yall I tried... honest," the rapper revealed that as of Sunday, he was official no longer a part of the Young Money label.

"I officially declare my independence on this 16th day of December 2007... I AM NOT YOUNG MONEY... regardless of what u may hear in da streets, read on the web or hear on the radio. I AM NOT YOUNG MONEY," Curren$y wrote on his blog.

But, despite leaving, he insisted that there was no beef.

"If that loses me friends or fans that's just something I will live with, but I will get my just due in this rap game [before] it's all said and done... Don't look [for] any beef records from me [because] that ain't my thing. Just look [for] me at the top," he said.

Curren$y was gaining a buzz on the mixtape circuit via various Lil Wayne mixtapes. He gained some big exposure with his underground hit, "Where Da Cash At," which featured Remy Ma and Lil Wayne.

The rapper began his career under Master P's No Limit Records, as a member of the 504 Boyz, but later left before he could release a solo album. He later signed with Before Young Money/Cash Money.

There is no word as to where Curren$y plans to go next, but on his MySpace page he lists himself as an artist on indie label, Fly Society.
