Rapper Birdman, a.k.a. Baby, was one of 16 people charged with marijuana possession on Tuesday (November 27) after their RV was pulled over in Kingsport, Tennessee.
According to the Associated Press, a local police officer pulled the Cash Money Records founder's vehicle over after it made an improper lane change which caused a tractor trailer into the emergency lane on Interstate 81.
After Officer Tim Horne made the traffic stop, he recognized a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the RV, prompting a search, which resulted in a pound of marijuana being found in the RV's kitchen trash can.
The 38-year-old rapper (real name: Bryan Williams), his 18-year-old wife and brother Slim (real name: Ronald Williams) were then each charged with possession of more than 1/2 ounce of marijuana along with 13 others affiliated with Cash Money Records.
All 16 individuals were booked and jailed late Tuesday night. Birdman was released on $1,500 bond from the Sullivan County Jail at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday (November 28) along with the rest of his entourage.
The AP reports that an assault rifle, a handgun and a magazine for a .45-caliber handgun were found on the RV, but no weapons charges were filed at press time.
The ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) are investigating the matter though.
Birdman is currently working on the release of his next solo project, titled 5 Star Stunna. It is slated to hit stores December 11.
