Online urban apparel retailer, Dr. Jay's, said Wednesday (November 21) that they will no longer carry or sell any items deemed to be associated with, or endorsing gang paraphernalia.
According to the New York Post, New York city lawmakers warned parents on Monday (November 19) that their kids could get shot and killed over the colors and slogans from the clothing their buying.
One of the sites carrying the clothing in question is DrJays.com.
Interns from Councilman Leroy Comrie's office recently bought t-shirts with gang slogans like "Never Snitch Ever" and "Respect the Shooter" from several businesses, including Dr. Jay's.
"Dr. Jay's retail stores do not have any of the products in question," said the company's vice president. "We have contacted our buyers of the Dr. Jays.com website, and they are removing or already have removed all of the inappropriate merchandise from this company."
The paper reports that the shirts were made by AKA Stash House, who says they will no longer be made next year.
