After being arrested in Idaho early Saturday morning (October 6) for drug charges and being denied bail (see "Lil Wayne Arrested On Drug Charges After Idaho Concert"), Lil Wayne is now a free man.

The rapper's attorney, William Head, explained to Atlanta's Fox5 that his arrest was a misunderstanding, claiming that notices sent to Wayne's New Orleans home were unanswered, due to his client being on the road touring since March.

"There's no way you would know to be in court," Head said to the channel. "In fact, he had a co-defendant who called me himself and said, 'My case was dismissed. We thought his was too.'

"When someone's this successful, there are chances things are gonna fall in the cracks," he added.

Lil Wayne (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) was arrested back in Atlanta in August of 2006 on drug-possession charges (see "Lil Wayne Arrested On Drug-Possession Charges"), in which id was released on an $11,000 bond. But after missing his hearing in in August 2007, a bench warrant was issued.

He was picked up Saturday morning after his concert at Qwest Arena that took place Friday night (October 5), and booked into the Ada County jail.

According to local Idaho news station KTVB, Wayne posted a $10,000 bond later on Saturday, in addition to the $11,000 bond he posted at the time of the original arrest in 2006.

He is now free to continue his tour.
