Rapper Lil Wayne was arrested in Boise, Idaho on early Saturday morning (October 6) on a felony fugitive charge issued in Georgia, after failing to appear for a hearing that stems from drug-possesion charges from 2006 (see "Lil Wayne Arrested On Drug-Possession Charges").
The Associated Press reports that Wayne (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) was arrested after his concert at Qwest Arena and booked into the Ada County jail.
But, due to the nature of the charge, he is currently not eligible for bond, so his scheduled Saturday night concert was canceled.
Following Wayne's arrest came several calls to the jail from fans and concert promoters, who inquired for several different topics.
"Every other phone call that we've picked up have been about him -- people who have tickets wanting to know where his concert will be, people calling to see if it's true that he's incarcerated," an unnamed deputy told the AP on Saturday.
Weezy is set to be formally charged Tuesday (October 9).
