Tests Confirm Cocaine Found In DMX’s Home; New Details Revealed In Animal Cruelty Case

More details have been revealed in the animal cruelty investigation on DMX.

In recent lab test results, police have discovered that the substance found at DMX's home in Arizona, California is indeed cocaine, despite previous reports indicating it wasn't.

As previously reported, police also found the carcasses of three dogs buried on the premises in late August, in which investigators say had serious injuries to their bodies.

According to the Phoenix's East Valley Tribune, necropsy and skeletal reports released Friday (October 5), by the sheriff's office, show that one of the dead dogs had evidence of heavy bruising as a consequence of blunt force, another had skeletal grooves resulting from a severe dog bite wound, and a third had fractures, bite wounds and burns so intense that the dog's gender was undeterminable.

When these dogs died is still unknown, but tests are being done to find out the time and location of the deaths.

The causes of the deaths are also unknown, but authorities are investigating whether the dogs had been used in dog fighting, which would be a felony charge.

Despite the news, DMX (real name: Earl Simmons) is yet to be charged. But the investigation is still ongoing, County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said.

"Someone's going to have to pay for this," the sheriff told the AP recently. "We have 12 dogs who were abused and three dogs buried in the yard -- someone's going to have to pay."

The rapper's Arizona home was raided on August 24, after surrounding neighbors called local authorities to report that the dogs on the property were at risk due to the extreme heat.

During the raid, 12 pitbulls were seized, which authorities described as distressed, as well as an unknown number of weapons (see "DMX's Arizona Home Raided; Pitbulls, Guns Seized").

The rapper is yet to publicly comment on the findings at his home, but his attorney, Murray Richman, told the media shortly after the allegations came to light that X has a caretaker who was supposed to take of the dogs and that "all sorts of people" had been staying at the home.
