Remy Ma was arraigned on Sunday (July 16) on attempted murder, in which she plead not guilty to, before being released on $250,000 bond.
The rapper was released from New York's Rikers Island prison after her manager put up his home as collateral, according to New York's Daily News.
The former first lady of Terror Squad was being sought by police for questioning in connection with the shooting of 23-year-old Makeda Barnes-Joseph that took place early Saturday (July 15) following a party at Manhattan nightspot, the Pizza Bar (see "Remy Ma Sought After By Police For New York Shooting").
According to reports, Remy Ma and her entourage enjoyed drinks and thin-sliced pizza before exited and getting into a verbal argument outside the club with Barnes-Joseph. After the heated argument, Remy allegedly shot Barnes-Joseph twice in the torso while she was sitting in her car.
Apparantly, the dispute was over money stolen from Remy earlier in the evening.
The rapper turned herself into police on Saturday evening and was charged with attempted murder (see "Remy Ma Arrested, Charged With Attempted Murder"), assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Associated Press.
The victim has since spoken out against Remy. In an interview with New York's Daily News, she says that after Remy Ma allegedly shot her twice, the rapper rummaged through her purse, in search of $3,000 that was stolen from Remy Ma earlier in the evening.
"All I heard was the gun go off," Barnes-Joseph told paper. "I couldn't believe she shot me. What hurts me is that when she shot me she went over and dumped the bag. She didn't even say, 'Oh, my God, I just shot her.' That's what hurt me so much.
"The fact she would think I would steal from her, it hurts me because I thought she was a friend of mine," Barnes-Joseph continued.
