Black Women's Organization Plans Women's Leadership Summit

The National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME), a network of the music and entertainment industry's top executives, announced recently that they plan to throw their 5th Annual International Women's Leadership Summit.
During the event, some of the industry's most successful female entrepreneurs are set to tackle technology, piracy, moral responsibility and the many other issues that present a risk to the music and entertainment industry.
From entry to senior management levels, women from around the globe are expected to attend the summit at the Hilton Charlotte Center City in Charlotte, North Carolina from October 3rd to the 7th. The three day event will include informative panels, career development workshops, and exclusive entertainment events, specifically customized for the female executive.
NABFEME has assembled an elite list of female power throughout the music and entertainment industry including Lorraine Bracco (actress HBO's "The Sopranos"), Lisa Ellis (Executive VP of Sony Music Group), Mona Scott (President of Violator Management), and Alexis Levi (basketball owner and CEO of the Las Vegas Stars). Additionally, brand strategist and publicity guru, L. Marilyn Crawford (President of Primetime Omnimedia) has been named the summit's ambassador.
"NABFEME's commitment to the creation of alliances that will assist attendees in achieving their personal and professional goals will be evident at our leadership summit," said Johnnie Walker, founder and President of NABFEME. "We will present the most powerful women in the entertainment industry, in an empowering and nurturing environment that will honor their achievements and allow them to discuss and share their experiences with their peers and our industry's future executives."
As a part of the event series, The Women's Leadership Summit will present its staple events: "Women Who Jam," an all female concert showcasing the talent of signed and unsigned female artists; and The Mentor Luncheon: A Salute to the Celebrity Mom, an event that honors mothers of today's top celebs. Last year, it featured presentations by Usher and Kanye West, and this year, NABFEME promises to uphold previous standards with the appointment of Roberta Shields, mother of Ludacris, and Donda West, mother of Kanye West and author, as co-chairpersons of this year luncheon.
