50 Cent, like most rappers, usually rocks a large iced out cross pendant around his neck, and there are some rather angry religious groups who feel he should remove it.

California based Christian organization, The Resistance, has released a public statement demanding the rapper remove the jewelry because his blatant disrespect for what it stands for via his lyrics.

"50 Cent is no Christian, and if you listen to his lyrics it becomes clear that he is more of a Satanist than anything," said Mark Dice of The Resistance, a nationwide Christian organization focused on preserving Christian values in the media.

"He is defaming the cross and committing blasphemy by wearing it while he raps about killing people for no reason because he's a big bad 'gangster.' I think a large diamond studded platinum satanic pentagram would be a little more fitting for him," he continued.

The cross 50 Cent wears is featured prominently on the album cover of his platinum-plus debut album, Get Rich or Die Trying, as well as in various photos captured of him during photo shoots and performances.

The group finds this disturbing and further says that 50 is mocking Christianity by wearing it.

"It's appalling for anyone to say they believe in God and when wear a huge Christian cross while rapping about murdering people for fun," Dice explained.

The Resistance has made headlines in the past for calling out celebrities for their cause. In 2005, they asked MTV to pull Jessica Simpson's video, "These Boots are Made for Walking," calling her "singing stripper."

The group has also recently been in the news for urging Duke University to change the name of their sports teams from the Blue Devils to something not offensive to the Christian community.

50 Cent or his camp was unavailable for comment at press time.
