Snoop Dogg has been banned in yet another country -- this time it's Australia.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews spoke on Sydney radio Thursday morning (April 26) confirming that he would not grant the 35-year-old rapper (real name: Calvin Broadus) a visa to enter the country, coming after recent drug and gun offenses.
Snoop Dogg was due to arrive in Australia to attend this weekend's MTV Australian Video Music Awards, which he was scheduled to co-host, but Andrews will not allow it.
"The reality is in relation to this man, that he was given a warning the last time, he has a whole string of convictions, and, just two weeks ago I was told he was convicted on a number of charges again and sentenced to three years' imprisonment on two, and three years' imprisonment on another, with five years' probation and a suspended sentence," Mr Andrews told Australian radio.
"He has been denied entry into the United Kingdom because he was caught with others causing affray at Heathrow Airport. He doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country," he continued.
Although the move man upset man of the rapper's fans in the country, a spokeswoman for Mr. Andrews said that he was warned during a previous visit. The spokesperson that said when Snoop visited Australia in February -- where he overstayed his visa by two days -- the Department of Immigration told him that they were concerned about his previous convictions, and, if he was convicted of anything else, it would be taken "very seriously."
