An arrest warrant was issued for rapper Foxy Brown on Thursday (March 23) after she failed to appear in court on charges stemming from a scuffle in a beauty supply store.
The charges come from an arrest at the Queen Beauty Supply in Miami, Florida in mid February (see "Foxy Brown Arrested In Miami On Battery Charge". The rapper was reportedly applying beauty products she had just purchased around the time of the shop's closing hours. When she was asked to leave, she refused, and then proceeded to throw hair glue at the employee and spit on him.
The man called 911.
After police arrived, she put up a struggle. She was arrested, and then was later released on $1,500 bond.
Judge Joel Lazurus issued the bench warrant after she did not appear in court in Fort Lauderale, according to the The Miami Herald.
The rapper says she was a victim of police brutality, claiming she was dragged out of the store half-naked, then arrested by police because she was black.
"I was exposed from the waist down on the toilet," Brown said. "The only crime I'm guilty of is being a young black woman."
