Rapper Foxy Brown spoke out on her recent arrested in Florida on Monday (February 26), where she spoke to reporters giving a very different side to what has been reported.
The 27-year-old rapper, who was arrested in a Florida beauty-supply shop on February 15 for battery (see "Foxy Brown Arrested In Miami On Battery Charge"), says she was a victim of police brutality, claiming she was dragged out of the store half-naked then arrested by police because she was black.
"I was exposed from the waist down on the toilet," Brown said Monday in front of the Brown Memorial Baptist Church. "The only crime I'm guilty of is being a young black woman."
Brown (real name: Inga Marchand) could face jail time if a judge decides she violated probation, which she is serving for assaulting two manicurists with a cell phone in 2004.
She is due in court this week to face the judge.
The Miami Herald reported that the rapper was arrested at a Pines beauty-supply shop when they responded to a call claiming the Brown was causing a disturbance.
When police arrived, the shop owner said Brown alleged assaulted him, after he asked her to leave because the store was closing. She allegedly became furious, squirting hair glue at a beauty store owner, swearing and spitting at him, knocking over display shelves before getting into a struggle with the officer who showed up on the scene.
She was arrested, charged with resisting an officer and battery, and then released on $1,500 bail.
