Mobb Deep, 40 Glocc and Sam Scarfo were aboard a plane Saturday morning (October 21) that almost bit the dust. But, it was able to make an emergency landing after flames and smoke bellowed from one of its engines.
The rappers caught a Delta Airlines flight after missing a connecting flight to Chile where they are scheduled for a number of shows.
According to a press release from the rappers' publicist, an hour into a flight, the plane began to rise and drop frequently in altitude. Soon after, passengers noticed the flames and smoke from the engines.
A pilot then notified passengers that they had lost one of the plane's engines and would attempt an emergency landing in Tampa, Florida. The pilot stressed to passengers that they "buckle up and not panic."
The plane landed safely and were greeted by dozens of fire trucks and ambulances.
"All I can say is God was on our side," Mobb Deep member, Havoc, told Allhiphop.com. "It could [have] turned out the opposite way! It makes you look at many things in perspective."
The rappers all returned to New York instead of their original destination of Chile.
Remaining international tour stops -- including England, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Germany and France -- have yet to be released.
