Beanie Sigel was shot on Thursday morning (May 25) in his hometown of Philadelphia, in a robbery attempt, according to various reports.
The Philadelphia police say that Sigel was in his vehicle, which stopped at an intersection in South Philadephia at around 7:10 a.m., when five black males approached him from two separate vehicles.
One man then opened fire on Sigel's car, striking him in his upper right arm. The rapper was able to flee the scene and drove himself to University of Pennsylvania hospital.
He is currently listed in good condition and expected to recover.
Sigel (real name: Dwight Grant) was released from federal prison in August 2005 after serving a year on a gun charge (see "Beanie Sigel Sentenced To A Year In Prison & Fined") and was luckily acquitted of attempted murder the following month.
