According to the suit, which was filed in a Manhattan Supreme Court, waiter Gregory Palmer from the Limerick House pub accuses The Source President Leroy Peeples and marketing director Alvin Childs of setting off a shootout that injured three.
The suit comes a month after attempted-murder charges against Peeples and Childs were dropped. Although, the charges were dropped, Palmer believes the pair is at fault and wants to be compensated for his injury.
"I still don't have full use of my hand and arm almost a year after being shot," Palmer told the NY Post.
Mel Sachs, the attorney representing both defendants, told Allhiphop.com that "the criminal and civil cases are baseless," and believes that the civil suit will be dismissed, as was the criminal charges.
The incident occurred on July 23, 2005, outside a bar across the street from The Source's offices, which -- according to reports -- started because a club employee refused to play hip-hop music, instead of meringue.
The argument sparked a fight to break out, which poured out into the street, where shots were fired, leaving three men with injuries.
