On the heels of Daz and Kurupt's latest release, Dillinger & Young Gotti II: The Saga Continues, the multi-platinum producer plans to shift the focus back to his solo career and the release of his So So Def debut, So So Gangsta.
With the latest single, "All I Need," already receiving tremendous airplay on the West Coast, Daz plans to continue the recent buzz he's enjoyed by hitting the road for a promo tour for the album.
"I am really glad to be more visible," Daz said in a statement. "I haven't left the game, I just took a role behind the scenes. But, this tour is a clear indication that I am beginning to turn on my career as a solo artist."
The rapper was in Vegas on Tuesday (November 15) and will be in Los Angeles Wednesday (November 16), and plans to make stops all over the rest of Cali.
"I think we need it," Daz explained. "I think that the West Coast can provide the world with more reality rap."
Although So So Gangsta has been constantly pushed back, still with no confirmed release date in sight, Daz seems to be keeping his faith in So So Def CEO, Jermaine Dupri, intact. According to the Long Beach native, JD can still bang out hits and that's why he's still there.
"JD is a hit maker," said Daz. "Regardless of your opinions about him, he knows how to make hits. And as a fellow producer, I want that same type of high quality that I give to artists to be apart of my project and program."
So So Gangsta has no definitive release date as of yet, but according to a statement, the album will be a "dose of the truth."
