Once again, 50 Cent is expanding his vast empire, but what is it this time? He's getting into the book game with the launch of G-Unit Books, where he will release a series of street-fiction stories.
Teaming up with MTV/Pocket Books, the series will feature 50's G-Unit crew -- Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Young Buck and Olivia -- as characters, which will be published in 2007.
According to a statement released, G-Unit Books will "tell the truth about The Life; the sex, guns and cash; the brutal highs and short lives of the players on the streets."
Agent Marc Gerald told The Book Standard, it was the rapper's idea to launch the book company and it was "always something [50 Cent] discussed and was passionate about."
According to Billboard.com, G-Unit plans to go the digital route in an attempt to market to 50's young fanbase through cell phone downloads including audio, text excerpts and G-Unit music.
"This is an opportunity to try everything and see what you can do to get teenage boys reading," Gerald told The Book Standard.
In August, 50 released his first book, an autobiography titled From Pieces to Weight, which was also published by Pocket/MTV Books.
