The most misunderstood member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Bizzy Bone, has returned with a new album and is creating a buzz in the industry and the internet via a web reality show.
The webisode, which is available exclusively on Allhiphop.com, has helped Bizzy's latest release, Speaking In Tongues, debut at no. 15 on the Independent Album chart, no. 183 on the Top 200 Albums chart and at no. 30 on the Rap Album charts on Billboard. In addition, the album has been streamed nearly 20,000 times on AOL Music, according to the rapper's publicist.
So what is this webisode people are talking about? Jarred Weisfeld, co-founder of 845 Entertainment, says the web reality show helps people to get to know the REAL Bizzy Bone in his element.
"It's people getting to know Bizzy, in the studio, recording the album and other things," said Jarred Weisfeld, who signed Bizzy to his 845 Entertainment. "People are going to get an in depth look [at him] and get a different side of him -- not what the press perceives him as."
As for Bizzy's opinion, the rapper wants the footage to speak for itself and hopes it translates into sales of his new album. With his performance on Billboard's album charts, it looks as though his goal may not be far away.
"I ain't never been on no dumb sh--. This is real serious, you know, Speaking in Tongues is spiritual. Ain't nobody here to play no f---in' games," said Bizzy without an expression on his face. "We serious as a heart attack."
The people backing Bizzy (845 Entertainment) are as serious as he is, and are proud of the accomplishments thus far.
"845 entertainment is very proud of the hard work and determination of Bizzy Bone," said Weisfeld. "Just seven months ago Bizzy was sleeping at bus stations now he has one of the top Independent Albums in the country."
