Jay-Z is tired of getting talked about by other rappers. That's what he told Ed Lover on New York radio station Power 105.1 on Thursday afternoon (September 15). According to MTV, the Def Jam President is ready to go to war with some of the emcees that are out there talking greasy about him.
"I declare war!" Jay-Z told Ed Lover. He says he is ready to "air them out" live onstage. Yes, you heard right; Jay-Z is scheduled to perform at Power 105's Power House concert at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey on October 27.
The show is expected to be another Jay-Z and Friends concert like last year's outing after he kicked R. Kelly off the tour and added such artists as Diddy, Ja Rule, Busta Rhymes and Mary J. Blige.
For fans not able to make it to Jersey for this surprising Jay-Z performance, don't fret, he will be performing a day later in Philadelphia for radio station Power 99's own Power House show, according to MTV.
But aside from Jay-Z's threat to air out a few of his fellow emcees, his main concern is to make sure the fans enjoy a good show.
"I got a lot of records," Hov told Lover. "I'm getting the itch. I need to see the people. It's time for a good show in New York City ... I gotta flip on some people."
The rapper has not mentioned who he plans to put on blast, but he does explain that he will be going at them hard and in his words, "put 'em in the choke hold."
"I gotta smash a couple of people. ... Everybody better make up and be my friend," explained Jay-Z.
MTV reports, sources close to Jay say that the two Power House shows may not be the last Jay-Z-headlined concerts we see this year.
