The Game was scheduled to make an appearance at 310 Footwear's booth at the MAGIC Fashion Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday (August 30). But instead, he was booted from the event abruptly after organizers believed the rapper was involved in the recent shooting of Suge Knight at a pre-VMAs party in Miami (see "Suge Knight Shot While Attending Kanye West Party In Miami").
In a statement released by MAGIC, the organization stated that The Game was not allowed entrance because he was "accompanied by bodyguards allegedly carrying concealed weapons." According to the statement, the Las Vegas Convention Center restricts concealed weapons of any type within the venue.
According to the Associated Press, the rapper was in Vegas to unveil his soon-to-be-released sneaker line, Hurricane by 310 Footwear, but he was denied access to the event because MAGIC officials were afraid of possible retaliation for Knight's shooting last Saturday (August 27).
"On Tuesday morning, August 30, The Game arrived at the event site an hour earlier than scheduled, accompanied by five bodyguards -- at least two of whom were allegedly armed. After being informed by security officials that this was a direct violation of trade show rules, all were escorted off the show premises," the statement read. And also organizers stated they attempted to reschedule The Game's appearance, if he complied with the concealed weapons policy, but the rapper refused.
"They had a lot of state police exit us right out of the building," Game told the AP. "They were scared there was going to be some drama, but I don't know why they would be scared because I had nothing to do with [the Suge Knight shooting]."
