Big Snoop Dogg is expanding his empire beyond hip-hop heads and straight into the skateboarding industry. The rapper, along with his brother Bing, is preparing to launch their own line of Snoop Skateboards.
The new venture will be made available through Pentagon Distribution (the distributor for Academy Snowboards, Kampus Wakeskates and shoes, and CD Wakeboard Bindings), and will include a complete line of skateboarding products, including long and short skateboards, accessories, and backpacks.
"We are excited to work with the Pentagon group," said Bing in a statement. "These guys are definite hustlers in this business. We are down with skateboarding and want to get more music fans into skateboarding. Both of these should be part of everyone's lifestyle."
Although the company will be bearing his brother's name, Bing is the man that came with the vision to market to the hip-hop generation.
"Bing Worthington, Snoop Dogg's brother, came to us with a vision of bridging these two industries together because there is already so much crossover between skateboarding and the rap/hip-hop market," said Duane Pacha, President of Pentagon Distribution.
In addition to launching the new company, both Bing and Snoop are preparing albums of their own. A Best Of Snoop Dogg album featuring 19 of his biggest hits will hit stores on October 4, while his brother Bing will be dropping an album, titled Lubrication, with his partner Hit -- known together as Lifestyle, which will also feature Snoop on "Bottoms Up."
