Kanye West fever is beginning to sweep the nation, as word of his album being nothing by extraordinaire spreads like wild fire. To add to his rising buzz, West will be gracing the cover of Time magazine this week and is named in the Top 100 Most Influential People in the World, as his album, Late Registration, is set for an August 30 release. "It's hard when people are depending on you to have an album that's not just good, but inspired," says West. "I mean, my music isn't just music - its medicine." ...
DJ Muggs and DJ Warrior have teamed up once again to drop another installment of their Mash-Up Radio mixtape series. The new mixtape features mash-up blends of Mannie Fresh's "Real Big" over Weezer's "Beverly Hills," QB's Nas with "Bridgin' The Gap" over the Korn classic "Freak On A Leash," to name a few. Other artists featured include The Game, G-Unit, Eminem and Dr. Dre blended with rock music from Pink Floyd, Rage Against The Machine, Nine Inch Nails, and Sublime, among others. ...
Chi-Town's Twista recently shot a video for "Girl Tonight" -- the first single from his new album, The Day After -- in Los Angeles. According to director Erik White, the video is an urban version of George Michael's "Freedom." Twista's new album is slated for an October 4 release. ...
Cingular Wireless and Atlantic Records have teamed up to provide their mobile users with 26 exclusive tracks from Missy Elliott's music catalog as 30-second ringtones. "Mobile technology is quickly becoming a dominant medium for content and it is important to us, at Violator, to keep our clients on the forefront of emerging trends," said Elliott's manager Mona Scott, President of Violator Management. "Cingular presented a very progressive opportunity for us to partner Missy with an industry leader and we are excited to be in business with them." Songs such as Missy's "Lose Control," "Get Ur Freak On," and "Gossip Folks" are just a few of the ringtones available for a download fee of $2.49. ...

Brooke Valentine's video for the first single from the "Roll Bounce" soundtrack, "Boogie Oogie Oogie" featuring Fabolous and Yo-Yo, is going to feature a few guest stars from the movie -- Marcus Paulk and Brandon Jackson, who play two members of Bow Wow's crew, Boo and Junior.
