Another rapper has been gunned down in Vegas.
Just 10 days after Kansas City, Mo., rapper Anthony "Fat Tone" Watkins was found dead in southwest Las Vegas, Nevada rapper Mr. Looks was killed and his friend was wounded in a shooting late Thursday (June 2) outside a recording studio just off the Las Vegas Strip.
According to the Associated Press, the 34-year-old rapper (real name: Roosevelt Hines) was shot dead in a vehicle after an argument with several people commenced around 9:25 p.m., Las Vegas police said.
The driver of the vehicle, Thomas Richards, 30, was taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas where he was treated for several gunshot wounds.
The two were found a block away for the scene, where they had crashed into a light pole. According to the AP, no suspects have been identified.
Investigators are uncertain if the shooting was connected with Fat Tone's May 23 killing (see "Kansas City Rapper Fat Tone Murdered In Las Vegas"), which has raised questions about whether or not Fat Tone's murder was retaliation for the November 2004 drive-by killing in Kansas City of Bay Area rapper Andre "Mac Dre" Hicks.
Las Vegas police are still seeking Andre "Mac Minister" Dow for questioning in the Fat Tone murder, he and two other suspects -- 24-year-old Jason Mathis and Tanisha Aaron -- are said to be on the run in the Bay Area (see "Police Seek Rapper Mac Minister In Fat Tone Murder"), after police found their vehicle abandoned in Vallejo, California.
