R&B singer Shanice recently hosted an album release party at the Conga Room in Hollywood, California to reintroduce the industry to her music. The intimate event introduced Shanice's fifth and latest album, Every Woman Dreams.
Among those who showed up to support Shanice where celebrity friends such as fellow songbird Chante Moore, crooner Kenny Latimore, actress Tichina Arnold, comedian Guy Torrey, and Cookie Johnson.
In addition to the exclusive listening party, Shanice gave a memorable performance of her past hits and upcoming songs, including a teaser of "Yesterday," which garnered substantial response from the crowd. Making a fabulous entrance by walking on red roses and singing her classic "Loving You," the party quickly turned into a surprise birthday celebration for Shanice given by husband of five years, comedian/actor Flex Alexander. The couple has also launched a new independent label called IME Records in conjunction with Richard Nash's Play Tyme Entertainment.
Although 2005 will mark a comeback of sorts for the singer, Shanice is no stranger to the world of entertainment. Getting her start in commercials and musicals in her early childhood, she was discovered at the age of 11 by A&M Records, and has scored such hits as "Lovin' You" and "I Love Your Smile" over the course of her career. She has also appeared on soundtracks for "Beverly Hills 90210," "Pocahontas," "Boomerang," and "Panther," for which she also made a cameo appearance in. Now releasing her first studio album since 1999, Shanice is poised once again to be a presence in the world of R&B.
Recently premiering the title track and first single from her new album Every Woman Dreams on 100.3 The Beat in Los Angeles, her new material is already receiving rave reviews from casual listeners and loyal fans alike.
Shanice's Every Woman Dreams is slated to drop this August.
