Pleasure, Slick 'Em, Baby Blue and Spectacular -- a Miami-bred quartet of brothers admirably known and referred to by their females fans as Pretty Ricky -- want all R&B fans to know that they have more than one hot song on their debut album, Bluestars.
"Grind With Me is gritty and it's a different type of R&B, but we got songs for everybody," Pleasure told Ballerstatus.com. "We got more to offer with our album. We got club music, breakup music, I want you music, sex music. Basically, what I'm trying to say is we're versatile."
With versatility as the focal point, three out of the four brothers, with the exception of Pleasure, rap. This obviously sets them apart from most R&B groups, past and present.
The well-rehearsed group of brothers have their story down pat, explaining the way each can provide for the ladies.
"Everybody got their own share," Pleasure said on behalf of his siblings, whose ages range from 18-20. "It's a different individual for each category, so the girls have a lot to choose from. If they want a sensitive and caring person they can call on Baby Blue; a smooth daddy, then that's me -- Pleasure. If you want a dude that lay in bed with a six-pack, that's Spectacular and if you want a rebel, a roughneck, get with Slick."
Growing up together in Miami and attending the same school, the group of brothers used to get teased in school for dressing alike.
"The girls used to be like Pretty Ricky and ya'll pretty this and pretty that," Pleasure explained. "They used to be like Pretty Ricky is what they call 'em, which came from the sitcom, 'Martin.' And so, ever since then, we've been Pretty Ricky."
Obviously, the young group from the 305 have a long way to go, but following in the footsteps of past great R&B groups like the Jackson 5, Boys II Men, 112 and Jagged Edge, a hit single is a good start. That and the fact they promise more.
"You should go pick up this Pretty Ricky album because we got way more to offer than just one hot single," Pleasure emphasized once again. "We got bangers on the whole album. Pick it up."
