Dizzee Rascal, Flii Stylz, Planet Asia, Dap and Christina Aguilera are just a few of the artists to lend their voices for the upcoming sountrack to David LaChapelle's moving documentary "Rize," which has been acclaimed at both the Tribeca and Sundance Film Festival.

"Rize" is set in the streets of South Central where -- to quote one of the films featured dancers -- "You are either in a gang, or a clown group." Tommy the Clown, who gains local notoriety for hip-hop dancing, becomes a father figure to many of the city's children and forms his own 'Clown Academy.' The kids learn to dance, paint their faces unique to their identity, and work parties' alongside Tommy. In order to become one of the academy's members, the dancers have to maintain good grades in school and renounce all gang-related activity. In addition, the Krump dancers meet frequently and have dance-offs, similar to battle rapping, but with movement. These seemingly combative movements serve to vent their frustrations through a positive outlet. "Rize" is truly a tale of an oppressed people trying to create beauty in an environment where such a thing is seldom encountered.

The film's soundtrack encompasses the many moods and emotional landscapes audiences will find themselves traveling while watching the film. Richmond, Calif. emcee and award-winning choreographer Flii Stylz is featured on the title track single "Rize," which is written specifically for the film and its dancers.

"I had to become one of them to make the songs work the way they do and that was not difficult," says Flii. "I grew up in the projects myself. We spent a lot of time together and I wrote [the songs] from the kids' point of view. As a dance choreographer I related to them perfectly. I feel their spirit."

With plans for Flii's video of the title track to be directed by David LaChapelle himself, and giants like Sony Playstation and AOL Sessions on board for promotion, this album will have ample exposure to fans of good music everywhere. The CD will also be enhanced with a "How To Krump" instructional video, teaching kids how to dance like the stars of the movie.

The soundtrack to "Rize" is slated to hit stores June 21st.
