Foxy Brown Turns Down Plea Bargain In Nail Salon Assault Case

Foxy Brown has been in the news a lot as of late, but not for her music. After recently being in headlines for a brawl with Jacki-O, Foxy Boogie appeared in court Friday (May 6) for the alleged assault of two nail salon employees.
During her appearance, Brown was offered a plea bargain in which she would have received no jail time or probation, but rejected the offer.
The rapper faces misdemeanor charges of assault, attempted assault and harassment, stemming from a dispute last August 29 in the Chelsea salon, called Bloomie Nails (see "Foxy Brown Pleads Not Guilty To Nail Salon Assault").
Joseph Tacopina, Brown's lawyer, stated that his client was not interested in any resolution that involved her admitting to a crime. Tacopina plans to file a motion to dismiss the charges.
She is scheduled to appear in court on July 28, where the court will issue a decision on the motions filed.
Brown is being accused of punching and kicking two salon employees in a dispute over payment for a pedicure and a manicure. Prosecutors say Brown hit Myoung Yi, an employee of Bloomie Nails, repeatedly in the face with a cell phone in her closed fist and kicked her. And also alleges that the salon manager was hit causing "bruising and swelling to the face, as well as substantial pain," according to a report from Billboard.com.
"I got the pedicure, but they didn't give me the manicure," Brown told reporters at her last court appearance.
Foxy Brown is currently preparing for the release of her next album on Def Jam, which is titled Black Rose.
